Greenville, Pa. - James R. Anderson, 80, of East Ridge Avenue, Greenville, passed away Friday morning, Aug. 1, 2025, in Quality Life Services, Grove City.
He was born in Mercer on Dec. 20, 1944 to Robert V. and Marjorie (Jones) Anderson. Jim graduated from Lakeview High School in 1963 and served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1965-1969.
He retired from R.D. Werner Co. in 2009 following 26 years of employment as a fork truck driver. He previously had been self-employed as a milk hauler in Mercer County for four years and also had been employed previously by Damascus Tube Corp. for eight years and Shenango Steel Buildings, West Middlesex, for five years.
Jim was a member of First United Methodist Church, Greenville, where he sang in the choir, and previously had been a member of Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church.
He was active with Cub Scout Pack 100 and Boy Scout Troop 52 with his son. Jim enjoyed farming, woodworking, spending time at the family camp in Elk County, and attending The Great Stoneboro Fair annually.
On Nov. 2, 1991, he married the former Karen I. DeArment, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by two daughters, Veronica (Glenn) McWilliams of Espyville, and Maria (Kenneth) Knauff of Sandy Lake; a son, Victor J. Anderson of Greenville; two sisters, Jane Sefton of Sandy Lake, and Jean Lego of Berwick, Pa.; and a brother, D. Dale (Jan) Anderson of Sandy Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
