James "Jim" Adair, Jr. Obituary

James "Jim" Adair, Jr., of Morristown, N.J., formerly of Mercer, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, surrounded by family after a long battle of illness at the age of 66.

Jim was the son of the late James Adair, Sr., and Helen (Lawson) Adair, who survives in Pennsylvania.

He was predeceased by his sister, Pamela Adair-West, and brother, Jeffrey

Adair.

He is survived by sisters, Deborah (Bobby Roberson) and Mia (Kevin) Forman,

and brothers, Dale Keith (Ona Adair) and Brian (Karen Adair).

Jim was born in Sharon and was the eldest son of seven children. He attended Farrell schools and graduated from Mercer High School.

In high school, Jim was active in sports, playing basketball and running track and

field. After high school, he attended Thiel College in Greenville, majoring in business administration and running track, eventually entering the insurance industry where he worked over 30 years.

While at Thiel, Jim met and married Hollie L. Simmons, spending a total of

43 years together, eventually residing in Dover and then Morristown. They

raised a family of three sons, Justin James (Megan Haynes), Shaun Thomas

(Gwendolyn Ferdinand), and Derek Anthony (Iris Avelar).

Jim retired in 2023 and always made time for his family, especially his grandchildren, Ace James, Teagan Papreka, Grayson Thomas, Harper Brielle, and Madison James.
