Grove City, Pa. - Harry Louis Guenther, 98, of Grove City, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, surrounded by his family.

He was born to Walter and Emma (Oswald) Guenther on March 30, 1927, in Troy Hill, Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Rosemary Guenther who passed in 2004. He was also preceded in death by his twin sister, Harriett Guenther; a sister, Irma Prom; a brother, Robert Guenther; and a grandson, Jeffrey Guenther.

Harry was a veteran of World War II, where he acquired his skills as an aircraft mechanic. After briefly attending Waynesburg College, he transferred to Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics to obtain his certification as an aviation service technician.

Over the next 40 years he served as chief mechanic for the private aircraft fleets of Forest Dorn Oil Co. of Northwest Pennsylvania, then Pennzoil Corp. and eventually Westinghouse Electric Co., retiring in 1989.

His career occasionally required worldwide travel to Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America, instilling a love of travel which he pursued after retiring. Other hobbies included boating, carpentry, reading, all the while maintaining a keen interest in aviation and aircraft. Most of all he loved spending time with his children, grandkids and his ever-expanding family.

He is survived by his three daughters, Carol Hewett, Tarpon Springs, Fla.; Susan Morgans, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; and Marilyn Juliano, Grove City; three sons, Gregory (Linda), Harry D. (Pamela) and Eric Guenther, all of Grove City; and daughters-in-law, Marisa Guenther, Wexford, Pa., and Cheryl Guenther, Dormont, Pa. He remains adored by his surviving 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nephews; nieces; and their children.

Services: Noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial: Immediately follows the service with military honors at Union Home Cemetery, 2426 Scrubgrass Road, Grove City.
