With great sadness, the Alhadi family announces the departure from this life of our mother and matriarch on Jan. 5, 2022, Mrs. Gowharah B. Alhadi, of Masury, Ohio, and of her native Yemen, from which she immigrated in 1959 after marriage.
She was born in 1935.
A strong woman deeply rooted in faith, family pride and traditional values, she lives on in the hearts of her four children, Fatima, Aziz, Nagib and Khatam; her brother, Abdulhamid; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and the hundreds more to whom she was a beloved relative, confidant, friend and mother figure.
All who knew or simply just met her were warmed by her loving smile, affection, generosity, witty sense of humor and welcoming ways.
Aside from her dear parents, she was preceded in 2010 by her beloved husband of over 51 years, the late Ahmed M. Alhadi; her sister, Salma; two brothers, Hamoud and Ali; and two other siblings who died in infancy.
Gowharah Bint, of Masury, Ohio.
Burial: Friday (1-7-22) in Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield, Ohio, after congregational prayers and benediction at Masjid Al-Khair, Youngstown, Ohio.
"From God we come and unto Him we shall return."
