Georgia Marie Adams Obituary

Gig Harbor, Washington - Georgia Marie (Povlick) Adams, age 83, passed away on Jan. 19, 2026, at Green Lake Senior Living in Gig Harbor, Wash.

Born on Feb. 14, 1942, in Butler, Pa., Georgia was the daughter of Alexander and Olga Povlick.

In her early years, Georgia dedicated herself to caring for others, working with seniors at a local convalescent home. Georgia pursued higher education later in life and earned her degree in business at the age of 50.

Georgia raised four sons—David (Cathy), Jeff (Christie), Chris (Karen), and John (Tamara)—with unwavering strength and love instilling in each of them a love for reading and a strong sense of empathy. She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers, Michael (Lorraine) and Steve; numerous grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Georgia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard; her sisters, Susan and Margaret; and her parents, Alexander and Olga Povlick.

An avid camper and outdoor enthusiast, Georgia found peace under the open sky. She also had a deep love for birds, faithfully keeping the feeder in her yard full regardless of the weather. Her dream of becoming an archaeologist spoke to her enduring curiosity about history and the world around her.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date when family and friends can gather together to honor Georgia's memory.
