Mercer, Pennsylvania - George O. McMillan Jr., affectionately known as "Junior," departed this life on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026.
George was born on Feb. 26, 1952, in Sharon, Pa., to George O. McMillan Sr. and Eula G. Stanley McMillan.
He was a proud graduate of Farrell High School, where his love for sports began. That loyalty never faded, as he remained a devoted supporter of Farrell High School athletic teams throughout his life. George also earned a post-secondary degree in electronics, reflecting his curiosity, technical skill, and strong work ethic.
In his early working years, George was employed by Chrysler in Detroit, Mich., later working for Conrail in Erie, Pa., before retiring from General Motors in Lordstown, Ohio, after many years of dedicated service.
George had a lifelong passion for muscle cars, from his Dodge Charger in the 1970s to his infamous convertible Buick, which many fondly remember. He also had a deep appreciation for a good meal—especially sweets—and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan dating back to the Jim Brown era. He additionally enjoyed baseball and cheering on his favorite teams.
Above all, George loved his family. He was a proud and devoted grandfather and cherished his many extended cousins, aunts, and uncles, holding close family ties throughout his life. He was known for his great sense of humor and infectious laugh, traits that brought joy and warmth to everyone around him. His generosity, strong faith, and love for the Lord guided his life and relationships.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George O. McMillan Sr. and Eula G. Stanley McMillan; his infant brother, Billy; and his beloved grandmother, Mary Stanley, with whom he shared a special and enduring bond.
George is survived by his children: Melissa Bryant of Farrell, Pa.; Fawne McMillan-Moon (Gerald) of Youngstown, Ohio; Christopher Bryant of Farrell, Pa.; Georgette McMillan of Farrell, Pa. and Angelic McMillan of Farrell, Pa.
He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, whom he adored: Terrance Tarver Jr. (TJ), Romeo Jackson, Leilani Bryant, Charles Green III, Giani Scott, and Isaac Moon, as well as one cherished great-granddaughter, Averi (Tarver) Robinson.
In addition, George is survived by his siblings: Gwendolyn Herron and Taliesha Gunther, both of Farrell, Pa., and his brother Phillip McNeil of Alexandria, Va. along with a host of loving relatives and dear friends.
George O. McMillan Jr. will be remembered for his laughter, kindness, faith, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. 2026-01-23 at Ruth AME Zion Church, 95 Connelly Blvd., Sharon.
