State College, PA - Garnet Irene Beck, 84, of State College, Pa., passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Nov. 23, 2025.

Garnet was born on Aug. 27, 1941 in Sligo, to the late Charlotte (Stevens) and T.O. Beck.

Garnet graduated from Union Joint High School, Rimersburg, and began her college education at Clarion State College before transferring to Indiana State College (IUP), where she completed her bachelor of science degree in speech education.

She married Frank Richard Musser on June 21, 1963 and had two children, David and John.

Following her divorce in 1981, she returned to the teaching profession that she had pursued as a young adult. She returned to school and earned a master of science degree from West Virginia University.

She retired from teaching in 2006.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David (Jill Smith), State College; and John, Erie; and her grandchildren, Veronica (Locascio), Denver and Nathaniel, State College.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine (Greenlee), Dec. 31, 2023.
