Fred Eric Maybee Obituary

Fred Eric Maybee of Hadley in Salem Township passed away at his residence on Friday morning, May 13, 2022, following a brief illness. He was 71.

Fred was born in Sharon on June 29, 1950, a son of the late Leroy and Carol (Fout) Maybee.

On June 29, 1984, he married the former Joni Mitchell who survives.

He was a self-employed drywall contractor for 20 years and had also been employed with the R.D. Werner Co. from which he retired following 26 years of service.

He was an avid hunter with a passion and love for spring turkey hunting and bow season.

He was a member of the North Salem United Methodist Church and had served honorably with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Joni, are his three children, Melissa Pearce of Meadville, Jeremy Maybee of Greenville, and Mitchell Maybee of Hermitage; his siblings, Carol (Lou) Baker of Indiana and Leroy E. (Debra) Maybee of Grove City; four grandchildren, Jysseca (Josh) Gohn, Darius Dempsey, Emma Maybee, and Wyatt Maybee; four great-grandchildren, Gaige Edwards, Reggin Edwards, Jaxon Edwards, and Blain Gohn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Theodore Maybee; his mother-in-law, Carolyn Mitchell; and a brother-in-law, Randy Mitchell.

The family suggests that memorial tributes may be made to Kindred Hospice, 26 Nesbitt Road, New Castle, Pa., 16105.
