Sharon, Pennsylvania - Frank Balawender, 71, of Sharon, passed away on Feb. 15, 2026, at UPMC Jameson.
He was born on Feb. 18, 1954, in Sharon to Stanley and Blanche Balawender.
Frank attended Sharon High School and graduated in 1972. After graduation Frank,immediately enlisted into the Marine Corps for four years and left as a sergeant.
After the military, Frank earned his engineering degree and worked for a few local firms.
Frank retired from Taylor-Winfield Technologies Inc. then spent most of his time taking care of his family and spending time in his vegetable garden during the summer. He got his green thumb from his father. He loved to putter around his house.
Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always there if anyone needed any help.
He is survived by his wife Karen and son Sean, at home; brother, Edward of Sharon; cousins, Joe Braya and wife Jinine of West Middlesex, Steven Braya and wife Terri and their daughters Stephanie and her spouse, Matt, Katherine and her spouse, Laura, and Rebecca and her spouse, Josh; cousins, Joanne and Nick Sassano and their daughters Gina and Jennifer and her spouse, Marty,all of Rochester, N.Y.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Blanche Balawender.

Visitation: 9 to 10 a.m. Monday (2-23-26) at JOHN FLYNN FUNERAL HOME, 2630 E. State St., Hermitage.
Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday (2-23-26) at St. Anthony's Parish, 804 Idaho St., Sharon, with Father John Power officiating.
Burial: 11:45 a.m. Monday in Holy Cross Cemetery, Longview Road, Hermitage. There will be military honors at the Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel before the burial.
