Avon Lake, Ohio - Frances Pilla Napoli, age 89, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, in Westlake, Ohio, surrounded by her family.
As a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loyal friend, Fran enriched the lives of all who knew her. Her curiosity, generosity, sense of independence, and hospitality were an inspiration and comfort to her family and friends throughout her long life. In the days to come, her family, especially her grandchildren, will be sustained by cherished memories of the many joyful gatherings filled with delicious food and lots of laughter.
Fran was born March 23, 1937, in Sharon, Pa., to Gino and Letizia Pilla. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, Pa.
Sam Napoli, her beloved husband of 56 years, preceded her in death on April 25, 2013.
Fran is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Gina and John Wittenberg of Westlake, Ohio, and Lisa Napoli and David Honicky of Bay Village, Ohio; grandchildren, Ellen Wittenberg Rapp (Dan), Clare Wittenberg (Mayur Rajadhyaksha), John Wittenberg (Katie), Sam Honicky and James Honicky; and three great-grandchildren Margot and Sophie Rapp and Henry Wittenberg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to World Central Kitchen, which is dedicated to feeding those in crisis around the world.
A funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026, at St. Raphael Church, 525 Dover Center Road, Bay Village, Ohio.
Friends may call at the church Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until time of Mass.
An inurnment at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Farrell, Pal., will follow at a later date.
