Hermitage, PA - Frances L. Ference, 79, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, July 2, 2026, in Avalon Springs Nursing Home, Mercer.

Mrs. Ference was born Dec. 22, 1946, in Sharon, a daughter of the late William M. and Doris M. (Vasconi) Jergler.

A 1964 graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage, she completed her bachelor's degree in accounting at Youngstown State University.

For many years, Fran worked as an accounting clerk at Black, Bashor, and Porsch, LLP, in Sharon.

An avid reader, Fran also enjoyed working puzzles, especially Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles.

Above all else, she cherished her grandchildren and the time she was able to spend with them.

Her husband of 40 years, Robert P. Ference, whom she married on Aug. 23, 1985, survives at home in Hermitage.

Fran is also survived by two daughters, Kristi McLeod (Marshawn), of Atlanta, Ga.; and Krina Musial, of Wheatland; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two brothers, William M. Jergler, Jr., and Gary T. Jergler; five brothers-in-law, Gregory Ference (Annette), Jeffrey Ference (Anita), Edward Ference, Dennis Ference (Adele) and Jack Ference (Eileen); two sisters-in-law, Bette Green and Christine Niehaus (Scott); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all who loved her dearly.
