Ernest Uber Obituary

Ernest "Ernie" Uber, 77, of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by his family.

Ernie was born on Nov. 13, 1946, in Sharon, the son of John and Erma (Cole) Uber.

He was a graduate of Brookfield High School, Class of 1966, and was employed at Sharon Tube Co. He worked in many departments before retiring in 2005 after 35 years of service as a foreman in the hot rolling mill.

He was an avid car enthusiast and a passionate Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He enjoyed quick getaways to Lake Erie.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gail (Germond) Uber; and his children, Nancy Scharba (Michael), Bonnie Uber, Donna Uber, Laura Hogg Casey (Thomas), and William Hogg (Linda); his grandchildren, Kristopher, Michael, Caytie and Hannah Scharba, Anthony and Mia Bruno, Olivia Corll, and Lisa Casey; and great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Torrin, Jayden, Landon, Grady and Kayson.

Each held a special place in his heart and made him very proud to be "Papa."

Preceding him in death by his parents; sister, Doris Pacsi; brother, Martin Uber; and his first wife, Barbara (Burns) Uber.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Brookfield Township Fire Department, 774 State Route 7 N.E., Brookfield, Ohio 44403.
