Elva F. Hanby
Elva F. Hanby, 65, of Grove City, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday evening, Jan. 12, 2020, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Elva was born on Jan. 20, 1954, in Grove City, to Benjamin C. and Ellen V. (Sowers) Eakin. She married John M. "Mike" Hanby on Aug. 3, 1974.
She retired in 2018 from Transitions Healthcare Autumn Grove, Harrisville, where she was an administrative assistant.
Elva loved time spent with her family and she enjoyed baking, swimming and preparing for the Christmas season.
Elva is survived by her husband, Mike at home; three children, Marie Shipton and husband Mark, Grove City; Michele Graham and husband Brian, Paradise; and Mike Hanby and wife Holly, Grove City; six grandchildren, Jasmin and Swade Shipton, Brooke and Morgan Graham, Jade and Zane Hanby; three sisters, Lorriane Ruley and husband Marty, Grove City; Suzy Hanby and husband Rick, Mohnton; Jodyanne Stromberg and husband Charlie, Reinholds; two brothers, Ben Eakin, Tenn.; and Larry Eakin and companion, Robin Mitchell, Punxsutawney.
Her parents and a sister, Loretta Rongaus, preceded Elva in death.

Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday (1-25-20) in Grace United Methodist Church, 210 S. Broad St., Grove City.
