Grove City, Pa. - Edward Leo "Ed" Geisler, died peacefully Nov. 16, 2025, in Grove City. He was 96.
Ed was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Pittsburgh to John and Marie Geisler and grew up in a big family with seven siblings. Being the youngest boy made Ed treasure time with his older siblings, and he wanted to be just like his older brothers, so much that he tried to enlist for World War II as a 15-year-old and was luckily turned away, even with his fake ID.
By the time he turned 18, the war was over, but he still wanted to serve his country and enlisted as a U.S. Marine. His time spent as a Marine military police officer fostered his love for helping others.
Post-service, he went on to work as a railroad detective and later as McKees Rocks deputy fire chief. When he was not saving lives, he spent his time helping others with his skilled handyman work, making the best pizza for every Geisler birthday, and cheering on his Steelers.
For those who knew him best, he was a loving son, brother, friend, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, and especially husband. Ed was married to his "bride" Marie (Maietta) Geisler for over 70 years. She preceded him in death, along with his parents, seven siblings, and granddaughter, Maria Morris.
Ed leaves behind three children; Deborah (Michael) Lavin, Edward (Jean) Geisler, and Carmela Geisler; six grandchildren, Kelly (J.P.) Delmore, Brian (Shelly Santry) Geisler, Michael Lavin, Victor (Megan) Letky, Sara (Hunter) Sessi, and Staci (fiancé Kenny Rose) Kost, and four great-grandchildren; Ava Geisler, Bennett Geisler, Isabelle Rose, and Sawyer Sessi.
