Saxonburg, Pennsylvania - Edna J. Covert, 87, of Saxonburg, formerly of Grove City, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Magnolia Place just shy of her 88th birthday.

Edna was born on June 5, 1938 in Grove City to James C. and Charlotte A. (Dunlap) Dunwoody. She married W. Lynn Covert in 1975; he preceded her in death in 2019.

Edna grew up in Harrisville and graduated from Harrisville High School in 1956.

She retired from Cooper Energy Service following 30 years of service.

Edna was a member of East Main Presbyterian Church. Edna and her husband Lynn enjoyed playing card with friends, and together they were members of the Star Promenaders dance group in Sandy Lake.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Edna is survived by a daughter, Judy (Shawn) Buchanan; two stepdaughters, Pam Menacher and Patricia (Reid) Bonig; five grandchildren, Shane (Kira), Courtney, and Justin (Carley) Buchanan, Ryan (Becky) and Patrick (Jodi) Bonig; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Norma Redfoot; two half-sisters, Darlene Texter and Becky Fisher; a brother, David J. Dunwoody; and a half-brother, Richard Dunwoody.
