Edgar L. Clark Obituary

Edgar L. Clark, 94, of Mercer, Fairview Township, passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 1, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in Blairsville, Pa., on July 6, 1930, the son of the late Robert Paul and Anna Marie (Painter) Clark.

He was married to his wife of 68 years, Dolores M. Clark, who survives him.

He was employed as a stamper at U.S. Steel, Braddock, Pa., and then served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Following his release from active duty, he owned and operated the Gold Mile Meat Market in Monroeville, Pa.

Subsequently, he worked as a truck driver for Interstate Trucking Company and finished his career as a business agent for Teamsters Union Local 261.

He was a life member of Mercer Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6345 and Fredonia American Legion Post 919.

He was a member of Coolspring Presbyterian Church, enjoyed beekeeping, carpentry work, fly fishing with his brothers, and hunting. Above all, he cherished the moments he could spend with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; his children, Darlene (Richard) Filer, Edgar L. (Patty) Clark Jr., and Donna Clark, all of Mercer; a sister, Frances Morris, Trafford; and two grandchildren, Amanda Filer and Zachary (Emily) Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Anna Jean Marks, Robert P. Clark, William Clark, Pat Morgan, and Tom Clark.

Services: 1 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Entombment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
