Grove City, Pennsylvania - Doris Jean (Weber) Hicks, 94, a longtime resident of the Grove City area, passed peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, in Quality Life Services Personal Care Unit.
Doris was born Feb. 24, 1932, in the farmhouse of her parents, Harold and Elsie (Patterson) Weber, in Pine Township.
On Aug. 21, 1951, she married Donald J. Hicks, and they eventually settled in Beaver Falls to raise their family.
Over the years, Doris had been employed by the J.C. Penne Co. and worked in their stores in Grove City, Beaver Falls and Petersburg, Va.
Upon the death of her husband in May of 1979, she relocated back to her roots in Grove City, where she was employed as a record keeper at Steese's Ice Cream for 20 years, until her retirement.
Doris is survived by her four children and their spouses, whom she loved as her own: Daniel and Kathy Hicks, Louisville, Ky.; Debra and the late Jeffrey Majzlik, New Brighton; Donna and Christopher Abbott, Louisville, Ky.; and Darlene and Dennis Winger, Grove City; five granddaughters and their families, Crystal (Brad) Handel; Heather (Nicholas) Tolle; Amber Hicks; Stephanie Winger; and Autumn (Paul) Johnson; and three great-grandchildren, Dillon (fiancé Eden DeVos) Winger, Shawn Young and Alexis Johnson; as well as many longtime friends who felt like family.
Besides her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Robert Weber; and three sisters, Virginia Taylor, Shirley Taylor and Elizabeth (Libby) Pagni.
