Sharpsville, PA - Donald W. "Schultz" Redmond, 65, of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, following a brief illness.

Mr. Schultz was born on Dec. 28, 1960, a son of the late Donald and Loretta (Lenzi) Redmond.

He attended the Mercer Area School District and the Auto Body program at Mercer County Vocational School.

On Sept. 7, 1985, Donnie married the love of his life, Lisa L. (Opalenik) Redmond.

Over the next almost 41 years, they built far more than a marriage — they built a home where everyone was welcome. Whether it was a holiday, a birthday, a cookout, or just an ordinary Sunday afternoon, everyone gathered at Donnie and Lisa's.

Donnie owned Redmond's Mulch and was the co-owner of the Pizza Shack in Mercer, where Lisa continues to welcome customers.

Recently, Donnie could be found in the garage, spending countless hours restoring a 1992 Toyota pickup truck he nicknamed "Tilly."

He loved cooking sauce and spaghetti, making homemade ice cream, and making sure no one ever left his house hungry.

When at home, he could often be found sitting at the kitchen island. From that seat, he directed the action, barked (lovingly) instructions to Lisa, greeted everyone who walked through the door, and told jokes that he found much funnier than anyone else did.

It didn't matter if you were family or a first-time visitor — you felt like you belonged there. Good food, laughter, and people he loved most were all he really needed.

More than anything, Donnie loved being "Dad" and "Papa."

He leaves behind his wife, Lisa; his sons, Donald W. "DJ" Redmond, Jr. and Ryan J. Redmond; and his beloved granddaughter, Paisley Tilly Lynn Redmond, who brought him endless joy.

He is also survived by his sister, Tammy Bour and her husband, Tim; his brother-in-law, Mark Negrea; his mother-in-law, DeAnna Opalenik; and many extended family members and lifelong friends.

Donnie was welcomed in Heaven by his grandparents; his parents, Donald and Loretta (Lenzi) Redmond; his sister, April (Redmond) Negrea; his father-in-law, John R. Opalenik; and his nephew, Jacob W. Lewis.

Donnie measured a good life by simple things — a house full of people, a pot of spaghetti on the stove, homemade ice cream in the freezer, laughter echoing through the kitchen, and the people he loved gathered around him.

Those moments became a lifetime of memories for everyone fortunate enough to share them.

His chair at the kitchen island may be empty, but the stories told there, the laughter shared and the love that filled his home will remain. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Kathy Dagres, Lisa's lifelong friend.

Kathy left her home in Arizona without hesitation to stand beside Lisa throughout Donnie's hospital stays. Kathy's unwavering support carried the family through many tough days.
