Donald L. McCracken (Mac) Obituary

Donald L. "Mac" McCracken, of Sharpsville, born June 28, 1939, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cancer. Now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Sara (Sally), whom he married in 1960.

Donald worked for Shenango Ingot Mold Inc. at the Buffalo, N.Y., foundry from 1963 to 1982, and at the Sharpsville foundry from 1982 to 1993.

Donald loved the outdoors, mainly hunting and skeet shooting as well as walks with his wife. Donald was President of the Western Reserve Sportsman Club and Skeet Field Director for many years.

Donald was also a member/elder at First Presbyterian Church in Sharpsville and also Faith Presbyterian Church in Hermitage.

Donald is survived by a son Mark (Carrie) McCracken of Cortland, Ohio; daughter, Mary Beth Male, Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Joshua, Nicholas, Sara, Anna, Ashley, and great-grandson, Owen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sara; and brother, Harold McCracken.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hillman Cancer Institute in Farrell, and also the team at The Lakes at Jefferson, where he resided for the past three months. They would also like to thank Helping Hands/Helping Hands Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church in Hermitage.

Calling hours: None, per Donald's wishes. Friends are welcome to meet directly 2:30 p.m. Tuesday (4-15-25) at Faith Presbyterian Church 2370 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage.

Services: 3 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Anthony Kladitis officiating.
