Dennis A. Baker, 83, of Hubbard passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home Tuesday Oct. 29, 2024.

Dennis was born Aug. 5, 1941, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Arthur R. and Violet L. Purdy Baker.

He was a 1960 graduate of Hubbard High School.

Dennis was a Police Officer for the City of Hubbard for 28 years and then an EMT for Watson Ambulance. He later worked for Lowes as a plumbing pro and an electric pro for Stambaugh's, both of Hermitage.

He was a member of U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Army Corp of Engineers for 10 years, and a member of Hubbard Eagle Joint Fire District.

Dennis was also a member of Hartford Jerusalem Lodge, Youngstown Scottish Rite, Hubbard VFW, and Police and Fire Retirees of Ohio Retirees.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Dennis will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family: his wife, the former Shirley J. Young, whom he married April 10, 1970; his children, Scott A. Baker of Ocala, Fla.; Lisa (Stephen) Benson of Masury; Denise Stubrich of Hubbard; four grandchildren Max Baker, Emily Benson, Justin Benson, and Alexander Stubrich, and his godson Michael Lindquist.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
