Macungie, PA - David Norman Orchard, 75, of Macungie, Pa., passed away July 8, 2025.

Born Nov. 3, 1949, in Sharon, to Irene Elizabeth (Snyderwine) and Norman Morgan Chadwick Orchard.

He attended St Joseph's Grade School and was a graduate of Sharpsville Area High School and went on to further his studies at The Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a degree in Social Welfare. He was an avid Penn State football fan.

He volunteered in the Big Brother program for many years helping to change the lives of many children. He was very active in Al-Anon, helping people with dependency. He worked many years in the restaurant business, then changed careers to become an internal sales representative at Fres-co System USA and retired in 2019.

He was very devoted to his grandson, Ryan C. Baker. They would have weekly outings, just the two of them enjoying their time together doing different things. This went on for years, from the time he was a preschooler until high school.

Dave was a lifelong animal lover and treated his pets like "fur babies". His cat Neveah, and especially Moses miss him dearly.

He is survived by his loving companion, Allyson Krist; his wonderful daughter, Anne Marie Baker and her husband Robert Craig Baker and their son Ryan Craig Baker, New Tripoli, Pa. His family circle included his sister, Margaret Orchard, Sharpsville; his brother, William Orchard and his wife Peggy Orchard, their children Morgan Orchard and wife Shannon Orchard, Elizabeth Newcomb and her husband Andrew Newcomb and their children Kubrick and Orson all from Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Orchard, and his wife, Rosemarie C. Orchard.

David's memory will be cherished by those who knew him and loved him. May his memory bring comfort to all whose lives he touched.

A burial will be 1:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday (7-26-25) in St. Joseph's Church, 5050 Saint Josephs Road, Coopersburg, Pa.
