David James "D.J." Kellogg, 1223 Plain Grove Road, Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County, died at 11:35 a.m. Saturday (1-10-09) in Orchard Manor, 20 Orchard Drive, Grove City. He was 84. Mr. Kellogg was born Nov. 21, 1924 in Mercer Township, Butler County, to William Lorenzo and Fannie Florence Cooper Kellogg. He, along with his family, owned and operated Kellogg Farms Inc. and Kellogg Trucking, LLC. Mr. Kellogg waas of the Protestant faith. He enjoyed working, hunting and his dog Annie. His wife, the former H. May Garlick, whom he married March 14, 1946, died March 26, 2007. Surviving are: two daughters, Carol L. Burnett, and her husband Robert, of Harrisville; and Mary Lou Phipps and her husband, Ronald, of Mercer; three sons, David James "Jim" Kellogg Jr. and his wife, Karen; Daniel Joseph "Joe" Kellogg and his wife, Jill; and Mark Scott Kellogg and his wife, Theo, all of Slippery Rock; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he aws preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William W. Kellogg; and three infant grandchildren. Interment: North Liberty Cemetery, Liberty Township.
