Clarence Scott Braine Obituary

Worth Township, Pennsylvania - Clarence Scott Braine, of Millbrook, Worth Township, passed away on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, following a lengthy illness.

Known to everyone as Scott, he was born in Grove City on Aug. 31, 1934, to Arthur S. and Elizabeth "Betty" (Phipps) Braine. He married Myra "Jean" Patterson on Sept. 24, 1959. She preceded him in death on Nov. 30, 1998.

Scott was a longtime member of Millbrook Presbyterian Church.

He retired in 1997 from PennDOT, where he worked for many years. Scott formerly was employed at Book Davis and Cooper Bessemer, both in Grove City.

Scott was a graduate of Grove City High School. Following school, he served in the U.S. Army until 1962. He was a member of the former Elks Lodge and the F & AM Lodge 603, both Grove City.

Scott spent most of his winters at Lake Glenada, Avon Park, Fla., where he enjoyed fishing, shuffleboard and spending time with friends. One of his biggest hobbies was cutting firewood and celebrating his annual pig roast that he held for family and friends for many years.

He lived to attend his grandchildren's sporting events at Lakeview High School.

Scott is survived by three children, Gregory Scott Braine, Todd Clifford Braine and Jennifer (John) Lyn Emmert; two granddaughters who were his pride and joy, Madison and Kendall Emmert.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Ruth McCarl.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday (12-5-25) at the funeral home.

Interment: Union Home Cemetery.
