Harrisville, PA - Clair Victor "C.V." Curll, 68, of Harrisville, passed on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025.

He was born on Nov. 15, 1956, in Coatesville, Pa., to Dean Woodrow and Patricia Jean (Burchfield) Curll.

He grew up in the small town of Strattanville, where he delivered newspapers and later attended Clarion-Limestone High School, where he played baseball and football.

He loved swimming weightlifting, camping, his dogs, and perfectionism in completing beautiful DIY home improvement projects.

He earned his BS at Edinboro University and went on to get his master of fine arts from the Pratt Institute.

He was a talented and accomplished artist that created the bronze statue "Cornplanter" in Oil City.

In addition to sculpting, he also enjoyed drawing, painting and pottery, always with attention to precise detail.

While teaching at Franklin Area Schools for 35 years, he shared his talent as an art teacher and his love of football coaching.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Lynn, at home, whom he adored; stepson, Devin (Rachel) Higgins, Philadelphia; sisters, Martha (Steve) Young, Ridgeville, S.C.; and Deana Diesel, Grand Blanc, Mich.; a brother, Jim Curll, Strattanville; four nephews; five nieces; seven great-nieces and -nephews; and many cousins, as well as extended family members and great friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Faith McClurg; stepfather, Vic McClurg; and brother-in-law, Pete Diesel.

His never-ending perseverance, faith, courage and unwavering strength through difficult times made him a solid rock for others to cling to.

His laughter, voice and wit will be greatly missed. He had an incredible impact on those around him, and we were better for knowing him.
