Christine Mack Arne
Christine Mack Arne, 55, of Manassas, Va., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, following a brief battle with cancer.
She was born in Sharon, on Sept. 11, 1964, a daughter of William E. and Catherine Bell Mack.
Christine graduated from Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage in 1982 and Mercyhurst College, Erie, Pa., in 1986 with degrees in elementary and special education. A major accomplishment was receiving The National Board Certification in 2010. She went on to earn a Masters of Education in Integrated Curriculum from the American College of Education in 2018.
She moved to Manassas to be close to her sister and her family. She worked as a teacher at both Baldwin Elementary and Mayfield Intermediate schools in Manassas City. Relocating to Fairfax County, she taught at Mountain View Alternative School, Herndon High School and the Transition Support Resource Center at Westfield High School.
She was predeceased by her father and two brothers, Dr. William E. Mack and Atty. Kevin D. Mack.
Surviving her are her husband, Arion Arne, whom she married in 1988; her daughter, Chelsea Marie (Meggin) Arne, and son, Liam Irvin (Patrick) Arne; her mother, Catherine Bell Mack; and five siblings, Patricia Langton (James), Carol Sunderland (Michael), Mary Catherine Ehrlich (George), Margaret Sniezek (Wendell), Maureen Mack; two sisters-in-law, Nora Mack and Veronica Mack; two aunts, Sister Bernadette Bell, RSM, and Alice O'Brien Bell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Christine was an amazing woman. She loved to laugh, dance and spend time with her family and friends. She was always the first person to get the crowd dancing at family gatherings. She will be missed.
There has been an outpouring of personal messages from co-workers, students and friends that included: "Christine was a beacon of positive energy, and her glow spread to everyone around her." "Her delightful and beautiful spirit touched so many lives and will never be forgotten."
A memorial service will be at Bull Run Unitarian Universalists, 9350 Main Street, Manassas, Va. on Saturday, Feb. 22, starting with a visitation at noon and a service at 1 p.m.
A service will be held in Sharon at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Sarcoma Foundation of America.

I worked with Christine at Baldwin Elementary School and respected her so much as an amazing teacher, who loved and was loved by her students and staff. She was a great friend as well. She will be missed by all the people she encountered. Best Wishes to Arion and Liam as well as other family members.
