Hubbard, Ohio - Charlotte A. Bottar, 94, of Hubbard, Ohio, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Masternick Memorial in New Middletown, Ohio.

Charlotte was born Dec. 8, 1931, in Muddelmow, Germany, a daughter of Otto and Frieda Brotzmann Moede.

Charlotte married John Bottar Feb. 3, 1951, and they immigrated to the United States in 1952.

She will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor, delicious cooking and the pride she had in her growing family.

Charlotte enjoyed participating in a bowling league, trips with the the Happy Wanderers group and watching birds, particularly cardinals, at her bird feeders.

She was known for making the best apple and rhubarb custard pies. She also loved Pizza Works pizza, coffee and an afternoon cookie.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a Fraternal member of Saxon Club.

Charlotte will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her family; her children, Karin (Michael) Schnaidt of Germany; Dr. Peter (Lynn) Bottar of Hubbard, Ohio; Margie (Jim) Mezzara of West Middlesex; Nancy Luthern of Hubbard, Ohio; and John A. (Deanna) Bottar of Madison, Ohio.

She was a loving "Oma" to 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by her brother, Karl Moede of Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Elisabeth Moede; brother, Willi Moede; and son-in-law, Joe Luthern.

Calling hours: 10 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday (7-11-26) at STEWART-KYLE FUNERAL HOME, 407 W. Liberty St., Hubbard, Ohio.

Services: 12 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Hubbard, Ohio.

Burial: Hubbard Union Cemetery.
