Transfer, Pa. - Cathy J. Faber, Transfer, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, in her residence, with her loving family by her side. She was 54.

Born Aug. 3, 1971, in Sharon, she is the daughter of Homer (Gloria) Elberty, of Hermitage, and Nancy (Delgros) Hogue, of Mercer.

She married David M. Faber March 28, 1992, and he survives in Transfer.

Cathy was a 1989 graduate of Kennedy Catholic High School and went on to Youngstown State University, where she earned a degree in child care. She spent many years working as a manager/secretary for Kraynak's Lawn and Garden Center, Hermitage.

Cathy was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage, where she taught Sunday School. She was a Girl Scout leader for Reynolds Troop 46801. She participated in a fishing program called Casting for Recovery. She also loved making all types of crafts and attending craft shows.

Cathy liked to travel, especially out west where she could go hiking and explore new places. Cape Lookout National Seashore was one of her favorite places to visit. Mostly she liked to spend time with her family, fishing, boating and spending time at their camp in the Moshannon State Forest. Cathy also liked to mow grass, take long walks on her property, go fishing in the pond, and look after her dog and cat.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by a daughter, Isabel J. Faber, Transfer; a son, Jacob M. Faber, Johnstown, Colo.; and two brothers, John (Andrea) Elberty, Canfield, Ohio, and Daniel Elberty, Brookfield, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Keith Hogue.
