Sharon, PA - Carl Eugene Scalf, 61, of Sharon, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Nov. 9, 2025.

Carl was born on June 3, 1964, in Riverside, Calif., the son of Charlene (Badgett) and Ronald Scalf.

Carl graduated from Sharon High School in 1982. Before he could walk across the stage, he enlisted in the Army.

After several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, Carl would eventually retire as a staff sergeant from the National Guard.

Carl married Jeanne Sharples in 1984. They would go on to have three very strong-willed sons, Christopher, Benjamin and Shawn.

Carl worked many jobs here in the valley where he chose to raise his family. His most prominent positions were those at Tamarkin Co. and Phantom Fireworks.

Carl will be remembered for his sarcastic humor and twist on life. He loved movies and music. Getting to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra was a personal win for him.

Carl was an amazing cook in and out of the military. His Christmas cookies will be terribly missed, alongside his jumbo stuffed pumpkin rolls.

Carl is survived by his favorite ex-wife, Jeanne; his sons, Christopher (Melissa Stiles); and Shawn (Alyssa Giovanni); his grandchildren, Tyler, Jaylen, Shawn Jr., Landen, Isabella and Charlotte; his brother, Paul Scalf; several nieces and nephews; and his two furry companions, Fuzznuts and Lovey.

Greeting Carl at the gates with the biggest smile and warmest hug is his son, Benjamin.

Joining them are his parents; his brother, Jamie; his sister, Connie; and grandchildren, Serenity and Lucas.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Joshua's Haven, 1230 Stambaugh Ave., Farrell, PA 16121.
