Bruce A. Garner, Griffin Road, Sandy Lake Township, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. He was 65.

Bruce was born in Richmond, Ind., on Jan. 20, 1951, a son of Howard and Bertie (Studebaker) Garner, Sr.

On Jan. 10, 1974, he married the former Thomasine Davis, who preceded him in death on Nov. 18, 2012.

He retired from Flexospan Steel Buildings Inc., Sandy Lake, where he had been employed as a machinist.

Bruce enjoyed being an artist and a sculptor as a hobby.

He is survived by his mother, Bertie Garner of Lewisburg, Ohio; a son, Jared Garner and his wife Heather of Sharon; four daughters, Machell Robertson and her husband Jerry of Laurel, Ind., Merinda Deaton of Harrison, Ohio, Lucretia Pursifull of Shelbyville, Ind., and Vania Mayfield and her husband Troy of Sandy Lake; two sisters, Cyndi Pearson and her husband Bev of West Manchester, Ohio, and Teresa Vandemark and her husband Harold of Lewisburg, Ohio; three brothers, Phillip Garner and his wife Ethel of Lewsiburg, Ohio, Howard Garner Jr. and his wife Carol of West Alexandria, Ohio and Jeff Garner and his wife Patricia of West Manchester, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; his wife, Thomasine; a son, Derrick Garner; and a brother, Gordon Garner.
