Stow, OH - Betty M. Hudson, 98, formerly of Sharon, died June 2, 2025.

Betty was born Aug. 3, 1926, to Mont and Adah Millsop of Sharon.

She graduated from Sharon High School in 1944 and the Buhl Hospital School of Nursing in 1947.

She served in the Navy from 1948 to 1952, including a tour of duty as a flight nurse during the Korean Conflict.

Betty married Harvey Hudson Jr. in 1952 and relocated to Sharon following her naval discharge. They divorced in 1968.

Betty received a B.S. degree in education from Edinboro University in 1972 and a master's degree from Slippery Rock College in 1986.

Betty was employed as executive director of the American Cancer Society, Mercer County unit, from 1966 to 1969.

She was employed as a school nurse by Sharon public schools for seven years and was subsequently employed as an instructor at the Sharon Regional Health System School of Nursing for 18 years, retiring in 1993.

Betty was an active member of the East Side Baptist Church of Sharon.

Betty was a generous donor to numerous charities and a longtime volunteer with Shenango Valley Meals-on-Wheels.

Betty was greatly devoted to her parents, sister Lillian A. Millsop, and her children. Her grandson Connor was very special to her.

Betty is survived by her daughter Lucinda Jennings; son Harvey Hudson; and grandson Connor Dripps.

Her daughter Cynthia Dripps died in 2015.

Betty requested that donations in her memory be made to the local Meals-on-Wheels organization.

A private graveside service will be held at a future date.
