Sharon, Pa. - Barbara J. McCullough, Sharon, passed away peacefully under hospice care Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was 87.

Mrs. McCullough was born Nov. 24, 1937, a daughter of Anthony and Vera (Sereday) Kweder.

A 1955 graduate of Sharon High School, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Slippery Rock State Teacher's College in 1959.

With a passion for educating young children, Barbara began her teaching career at Musser Elementary School in Sharon, and later worked as an administrator for Trumbull County Head Start in Warren, Ohio. Prior to retirement, she returned to the classroom, teaching kindergarten at Warren City Schools.

Barbara was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sharon, where she served as an Elder, as a member of the Memorial Committee, and was active with the Presbyterian Women.

An avid reader, she also loved walking her dogs through Buhl Park in Sharon and collecting Caldecott Award-winning children's books. Barbara will be lovingly remembered for anonymously sending holiday cards and gifts to her loved ones, especially her nieces and nephews.

Her beloved husband of 64 years, Edward McCullough, whom she married June 24, 1961, survives at home.

Barbara is also survived by a daughter, Kimberly McCullough, Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Kevin McCullough (Jody), Hummelstown, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Keith Kweder.
