Anthony G. DeNoi Obituary
Farrell, PA - Chief Master Sergeant Anthony G. DeNoi, 83, of Farrell, passed away following a brief illness on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in his home.
CMSgt DeNoi was born on Dec. 31, 1942, in Barberton, Ohio, a son of the late Dominick Daniel and Margaret Elizabeth (Lauderman) DeNoi.
He attended Farrell High School and enlisted in the Air Force.
During his honorable 29-plus years in the military, he served with the AC-130 gunship squadron, where he was awarded the distinguished Flying Cross with six oak leaf clusters, the Purple Heart and the Legion of Merit award.
CMSgt DeNoi retired from Grissom Air Force Base after two years as an aircraft maintenance supervisor.
Upon his discharge, he worked for Alsalam, a subsidiary of Boeing in Saudi Arabia, as a maintenance supervisor with the Royal Saudi Air Force.
Tony was a member of the American Legion, Post 432, Wheatland, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5286, Farrell.
He had a passion for classic cars and attending car cruises. His favorite vehicles were his 1955 T-Bird, a Dodge Warlock Truck, a Jeep Willys, and a Dale Earhart Edition Monte Carlo.
Tony also had a passion for gardening, especially garlic and growing 10 of the hottest peppers in order to make "Tony's Devil Dust." Additionally, he liked to make wine.
He is survived by his wife, the former Karen Whalen, whom he married on Dec. 31, 1987; two children, Cheryl McWhorter (John), of Virginia; and Anthony Denoi (Karen), of Delaware; three grandchildren, Christian Foster (Jimmy), of Virginia; Laura McWhorter, of New York; and Kelly Gilliford, of Pennsylvania; a great-grandchild, Ian Foster, of Virginia; and four siblings, Carol Kettering, George Stepanchak (Terri), William Stepanchak (Linda) and Dennis DeNoi (Cheryl).
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Aleksa; a brother-in-law, S.P. Kettering; and a niece, Nittany Spohn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans, Mercer County Chapter 55, PO Box 564, Sharon, PA 16146; or a local animal shelter of the donor's choice.
