Greenville, PA - Alfred " Al" L. Johnson Jr., 93, of Greenville, formerly of Hermitage, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, at St. Paul's Senior Living Center.

He was born on March 26, 1932, in Sharon, to Alfred L. Johnson Sr. and Ruth Naoma (Livermore) Johnson.

Al attended Hickory schools.

He was a jack of all trades and had many jobs in his lifetime ranging from truck driving, building homes and maintenance.

He retired as a maintenance supervisor at the Golden Dawn grocery store.

Al was married to Doris J. (Hoover) Johnson on June 23, 1951. She preceded him in death on Nov. 11, 2024.

Al was a member of the First Church of God in Greenville.

He loved Jesus Christ and his church family very much.

Al loved to be outdoors. He especially loved to hunt and fish.

Most of all, Al loved to be surrounded by loved ones. He took great pride in being a grandpa and was always thrilled to spend time with his family.

Alfred is survived by a daughter, Dollie (Roman) Namisnyk of Sharon; son, Dale (Patricia) Johnson of Transfer; brother, Charles Johnson of Greenville; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and four great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Al is preceded in death by his siblings, George, Phyllis and Mary.

His family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the St. Paul's administration and staff for the outstanding care they provided Al.

Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday (2-6-26) at JOHN FLYNN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 2630 E. State St., Hermitage.

Funeral service: 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel.
