Robert Thompson McConnell, 83, of Oak Hill Drive, West Middlesex, died at UPMC Horizon, Shenango Valley, on Sunday morning, July 16, 2017.
Bob was born in Lackawannock Township, Mercer County, on April 19, 1934, to Marshall and Ella Thompson McConnell.
He married Barbara Irene Waldorf on June 4, 1957.
He graduated from West Middlesex High School in 1953 and worked at T. Bruce Campbell for over 51 years.
Bob was a member of West Middlesex United Methodist Church.
An active member of Kedron F&AM Lodge 389 of West Middlesex, he received a lifetime achievement award and was a lodge steward. A 32nd degree Mason, he received the Meritorious Service Award for 25 years of membership with the New Castle Consistory.
He was also a member of Mercer County Historical Society and Sons of the American Revolution.
A veteran, Bob served his country in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, at home, survivors include: three daughters, Barbara Ann (Richard) Addison of Plum, Pa.; Margaret Jean (Dale) Shrawder, New Wilmington; and Mary Beth Skiffington, Washington, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Lou McConnell of Hermitage; six grandchildren, Richard and Elizabeth Addison; Robert Shrawder; Adam and his wife, Michaleen Shrawder, and their son Lucas; and Deirdre and Liam Skiffington.
Bob was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, George; and a son-in-law, Gene Skiffington.
Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church, Main Street, or to Kedron F&AM Lodge, Erie Street, both West Middlesex, PA 16159.
