Gwendolyn "Gwen" Marie Steele Cullers, 57, of Volant, Washington Township, Lawrence County, passed away at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at 4:45 a.m. following a four-month illness.
She was born on Oct. 25, 1959, to Paul William Steele and Judith "Judy" Ann Slater Steele at the Mercer Cottage Hospital, Mercer.
Gwen graduated from Grove City High School in 1977 and worked as a medical secretary for Paoletta Counseling Services, Mercer. She enjoyed cross stitching, traveling, singing and playing with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, James Alvin Culler, whom she married on May 23, 1978; two sons, John Paul Cullers (Kandy) of New Castle; a son, Jerod James Cullers of Volant; mother, Judy Steel of Volant; niece, Cindy Ann Barnes of Fredonia; two grandchildren, Jacob Cullers and Brenna Cullers; three step-grandchildren, Jennifer Laksh, Melissa Laksh Lee and Rachel Laksh.
She was preceded in death by her father, and sister, Lorrain Barnes.
