Eleanor R.'s Story

Eleanor R. Brest, formerly of Plum St. Greenville, passed away Friday morning, June 23, 2017, in St. Paul's. She was 99.
She was born in Orangeville, Pa., on Feb. 1, 1918, to Oren and Minnie (Artman) McClelland.
She had attended Penn High School. On March 11, 1936, she married Robert E. Brest, who passed away on Feb. 27, 2009.
Eleanor had been a homemaker as well as operator of a ceramics business out of her home for 30 years. During the 1950s she helped her late husband on their family farm in Otter Creek Township.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Greenville.
She and her late husband enjoyed traveling together and had visited all 50 states. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Gail Carey and her husband John of Sheakleyville; three sons, Robert E. Brest and his wife Gertrude of Greenville; William E. Brest and his wife Rose of Greenville, and Rodney P. Brest and his wife Beverly of Meadville; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Eva June Bancroft and Marian McCright; and two brothers, James McClelland and Fred McClelland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church c/o Elizabeth Baran Missionary to the Philippines, 101 Donation Road, Greenville, PA 16125.

Funeral service: 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with Rev. Keith Troyer, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Greenville, officiating.
Burial with committal prayers will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery.
