Edmund D. Scott, 91, of Burghill, passed away at his home on Thursday evening, Aug. 31, 2017.
He was born July 15, 1926, in Sharon, a son of Milton and Irene Ferguson Scott.
He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving on the USS Adirondack.
Edmund retired in 1982 as a water tender, after working 42 years at Sharon Steel Corp. He also helped at Galloway Onstott Funeral Home in Hartford for 17 years.
He was a member of Hartford Community Church, where he was a former deacon and trustee.
He was a post commander for the former Hartford VFW 3535, past president of the Hartford Optimist Club, and a statutory agent of Boy Scout troop 90.
He enjoyed reading, gardening and camping.
Edmund is survived by: his wife, Virginia "Jake" Gill Scott, whom he married July 15, 1950; two sons, Dennis (Mary) Gill of Brookfield, and Jim Scott of Hubbard; a grandson, Bradford Gill; two great-grandsons; and a sister, Winifred McIntyre of Hermitage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 14 sisters and brothers, and his daughter-in-law.

Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday (9-6-17) in GALLOWAY-ONSTOTT FUNERAL HOME, 3451 state Route 7, Hartford.
Services: Funeral at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Gary Meikle and Rev. Mary Ann Rufener officiating. A military service will follow by the Trumbull County Honor Guard.
