Beverly's Story

Beverly J. Furman of Sharon passed away at 6:36 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 75.
Mrs. Furman was born May 7, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, a daughter of Herbert C. and Helen G. (Wallace) Waterman and attended Clay High School, Oregon, Ohio. She moved to Virginia before settling in Sharon in 1987.
Beverly was a member of Mount Zion Fellowship, Suffolk, Va., and attended First Assembly of God and Grace Chapel Community Church, both Hermitage. She bowled with the Saturday Night Pin Heads league at Sharpsville Bowling Center.
Beverly enjoyed flowers, keeping up her gardens, doing needlework, crocheting and sewing. She was a fantastic cook; her family loved her Christmas cookies, fudge and lasagna.
Her husband, William R. Furman Jr., whom she married Feb. 17, 1960, passed away March 27, 2008.
Surviving are: a daughter, Robin L. Dillon (Dave), Casper, Wyo.; a son,  William R. Furman III (Jean), Masury; four grandchildren, David G. Dillon (Jen), Elizabeth Rae Thomas (Stan), Nicole L. Furman, and Sarah A. Furman; four great-grandchildren, Dylan and Theo Thomas, Micah Novelli, and Haileigh Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Cleo Pulliam; and two brothers, John E. and C. Bud Waterman.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
