William's Story

William A. Kuhn, formerly of West Middlesex, died Sunday (Feb. 11, 2018) at Hospitality Care Center, Hermitage. He was 88.
Bill was born on July 24, 1929, in West Middlesex, to the late John and Gertrude Likens Kuhn.
He married Charlotte Baker on Nov. 27, 1948. She preceded him in death Aug. 28, 2010.
Bill was the police chief in West Middlesex in the 1960s and early '70s. He retired from Trinity in Greenville at age 80 as a security guard.
He was of the Protestant faith and attended First Presbyterian Church, Sharpsville,.
He played baseball with the Penn-Ohio Old Timers League and enjoyed hunting, bowling, and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include: four daughters, Linda Nicholson (John) of Bonita Springs, Fla., Carol Hassell (Reid) of Clayton, N.C., Nancy Meredith (Daryl) of Sharpsville, and Janet Brykovsky of Princeton, Minn.; one sister, Dorothy Jane Heasley (Donald) of Crystal Lake, Ill.; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a half-sister and three half-brothers.
His family would like to thank Dr. Christopher Enoch and the staff at Fresenius Medical Care, the staff at Hospitality Care Center, and Heartland Hospice, all of Hermitage, for the wonderful care and love they gave to Bill.

Calling hours: 4 p.m. until time of service Thursday (2-15-18) in THE SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 3126 Main Street, West Middlesex.
Service: 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Rev. Richard C. Nero, D.D. of Heartland Hospice, will officiate.
Interment: Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex.
