William Houston of Timber Lane, Hermitage, formerly of Grove City, died at the residence of his daughter on Saturday (Feb. 3, 2018). He was 96.
He was born in Lawrence County on Jan. 21, 1922, to the late William and Olive Boozell Houston.
He married Georgetta Hockenberry on Feb. 24, 1944. She survives at the residence.
Mr. Houston was a member of the West Middlesex Presbyterian Church and retired from Cooper Energy Services after 42 years of service.
He served his country in the Army and belonged to the Hickory VFW Post 6166.
He was an avid bowler and golfer.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: a daughter, Deborah Sue McCluskey of Hermitage; a son, Ronald Houston of Erie; two granddaughters, Courtney Abbott and Heather Rodgers; five great-grandchildren, Halle and Lucas Rodgers and Brynley, Brady and Connor Abbott.
He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Nancy Louise Houston; and three sisters, Helen and Leona Houston and Leora Arrow; and an infant brother.
Memorials may be made to West Middlesex Presbyterian Church or Sharon Regional Health System Hospice.

Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Stacey Cox, lay pastor, officiating. Full Military honors will be observed by the Hickory V.F.W.
Interment: Slippery Rock Cemetery, Butler County.
