Warren Horner, 88, of Lackawannock Township, Mercer, died at his residence on Dec. 18, 2017.
Warren was born on March 26, 1929, on Hermitage, the son of the late Harry and Ruth Elizabeth (Thompson) Horner. He graduated from Hickory High School in 1947 and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. from 1951 to 1953.
He had worked as a coil winder at the former Westinghouse plant in Sharon for 38 years before retiring.
Warren was a member of the F. and A.M. Shenango Valley Lodge #810, the Scottish Rite, Valley of New Castle Consistory, the Zem Zem Shrine of Erie, the Sharpsville American Legion Post 6404, and the Hickory V.F.W. Post 6166. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sharon.
Warren is survived by his sister, Ellen Sheriff of Barstow, Calif.; a niece, Lynn Ellen Mendez; and three nephews, Richard, Ralph and David Sheriff.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Robert Sheriff.
