Vanessa M. Garrett, 62, of Sharpsville, passed away Thursday Jan. 4, 2018, in UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Garrett was born March 26, 1955, in Sharon, to Carmen and Mildred (Cupic) Messere.
She graduated from Mercer High School, class of 1973.
Vanessa worked as a cashier for Hills Department Store and previously for the Sunset Drag Strip.
On Jan. 31, 1976, she married her husband, James L. Garrett, who passed away July 18, 2014.
She enjoyed crocheting and craft shows. Vanessa loved keeping in touch with her family on the telephone. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren, whom she adored.
Vanessa is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Kris) Ratkowski, Wheatland; sons, JC (Carla) Garrett, and Jacob (Jill) Garrett, all of Hermitage; two grandchildren, Lexis Garrett AND Adalynn Garrett; in-laws, James L. (Alberta F.) Garrett, Sharpsville; sister-in-law, Laurie (Jim) Carucci, Clark; brother-in-law, Richard (Sharon) Garrett, Sharpsville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Ed Dailey officiating.
Burial: Glenwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
