Thelma E. DeTrude, 76, of Grove City, formerly of Glenshaw, passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, of heart failure.
Thelma was born April 5, 1941, in Pittsburgh to Charles and Anna Baskin.
A homemaker, she married Edward Mark DeTrude in 1961; he preceded her in death in 1982.
Thelma retired from Giant Eagle of Glenshaw, where she was a cake decorator in the bakery for many years.
As a mother, she loved unconditionally; she made the best birthday cakes and forever worried about everyone else. Countless friends and family will miss her. We say goodbye too soon and are left with a lifetime of memories, inside jokes and the knowledge that we couldn't have asked for a better Mom.
Thelma is survived by: her three children, Edward (Roxanne) DeTrude, Waupaca, Wis.; Ronald DeTrude, Kennedy Township; and Anna (Joshua) Pofahl, Grove City; a sister, Ella Mae Brooks, Austintown, Ohio; and a brother, Charles (Samantha) Baskin, Pittsburgh.
In addition to her parents and husband, a sister, Mary Ann Hughes, preceded Thelma in death.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the ASPCA on Thelma's behalf.
