Shirley Eileen Buckwalter, 90, of Buckwalter Road, New Wilmington, Shenango Township, Mercer County, died at 2:40 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care, New Wilmington.
Shirley was born in New Castle, on Sept. 23, 1927, to the late Harry William and Kathryn McConnell Maughan. She married Joseph Witwer Buckwalter June 19, 1945, and he preceded her in death Jan 2, 2006.
Shirley was a homemaker and a member of Neshannock Presbyterian Church, New Wilmington, where she served as a trustee and deacon and sang in the choir.
Survivors include two daughters: Linda (Richard) Rippy of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Deborah (Raymond) Broomall of Manassas, Va., two sons: Terry E. (Flo) Buckwalter and Joseph (Mary) Buckwalter Jr. both of New Wilmington, and one sister: Adele Marie Maughan of Texas. Ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren complete the family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter: Patricia Jean Buckwalter, one brother: Norman Alan Maughan, and two sisters: Betty Anderson and Carol McClelland.
Memorials may be given to the Neshannock Cemetery in care of Neshannock Church, 330 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, PA 16142.
