Samuel F. Lander, 86, Mercer, passed away at UPMC Montefiore at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017.
He was born Aug. 14, 1931, in Lucinda, Pa., to Frederick Fabian and Dorothy Baumcratz Lander.
Samuel married Susan Rose on Sept. 22, 1994.
He was a millwright for General Motors in Lordstown and was a member of the United Auto Workers.
Mr. Lander was an Army veteran who served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Lander, at the residence; two sons, Karl Lander in Battle Creek, Mich., and Brian Lander and his wife Betty in Mercer; one daughter, Joan Van Voorst in Ceresco, Mich.; two grandchildren, Lindsey Van Voorst and David Lander; and two great-grandchildren.
His parents and three brothers preceded him in death.

Visitation: 10 a.m. to time of service Friday (11-3-17) at the CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 144 S. Pitt St., Mercer.
Funeral: Noon Friday in the funeral home.
