Ruth J. Saylor, 88, of New Castle passed away the evening of Jan. 29, 2017, at Haven Convalescent Home.
Born March 21, 1928, in New Castle, she was the daughter of David L. and Effie Pearl Wysner Bevan.
She was preceded in death on April 4, 2005, by her husband of 57 years, James E. Saylor, whom she married on April 23, 1947.
Ruth attended George Washington Junior High School, followed by New Castle High School.
She was a homemaker.
A member of the Division Street Volunteers club, Ruth also enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos.
She attended First Church of God of Euclid Avenue.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Saylor of New Castle; two sons, David (Lynn) Saylor of Troy, Mich.; and Russell (Kathleen) Saylor of West Middlesex; five grandchildren, Raymond (Cheryl) Saylor, Cara Saylor, James (Amanda) Saylor, Chad (Samantha) Saylor and Mark Saylor; and four great-grandchildren, Madison Saylor, James R. Saylor, Rowan Saylor and Conrad Saylor.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Georgia Dute and Iva Shaffer Carbone; and two brothers, David Bevan and James Bevan.
