Ruth Anne's Story
Ruth Anne Whitesell Walter, (Pine Township), Grove City, passed away Monday morning, Aug. 21, 2017, in Orchard Manor after a swift battle with Cancer. She was 73.
She was born Jan. 16, 1942, in Grove City to John C. and Sylvia V. (Kelly) Whitesell. She married Clyde R. (Bob) Walter on July 29, 1961; he preceded her in death on July 22, 2017 apart for a short time, but back together for an eternity.
After graduation, she worked at Slippery Rock University and retired from Grove City Area School District after 37 years as secretary to the superintendent.
She was a member of Scotch Hill Presbyterian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star
She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Lynne Karns and her husband Daniel and Karen Annette Walter, both Grove City; three grandsons, Robert D. Karns and his wife Beth and Stephen M. Karns both New Castle and Justin R. Minor, Stoneboro; a great-granddaughter, Lana Elizabeth Karns, New Castle; and a sister, Betty (Clair) Bailey, Harrisville.
Along with her husband, her parents, in-laws, Clyde O. and Edna M. (Rodgers) Walter, three brothers; Robert, Kenneth, and William Whitesell preceded her in death.
