Rolf A. Geese, 82, of Farrell, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born on Sept. 16, 1935, in Hanover, Germany, a son of Martin A. and Alma A. (Peeck) Geese.
He was an apprentice in Germany and a graduate of DeVry Tech in Chicago, in 1970 to work for IBM.
Rolf was a licensed mechanic for Volkswagen in Germany, Canada and the U.S.
When he first came to the U.S. he worked at the Volkswagen dealership in Hermitage. He worked as a field engineer for IBM in Youngstown for 24 years, retiring in 1993.
He enjoyed remote control models and was a member of Skylarks. He also worked Sudoku puzzles.
Rolf was a Mr. Fix-it when it came to just about anything and fixed many computers for friends. He liked reading, metal work and woodworking and built many things and remodeled his entire house.
He is survived by: his wife at home, Linda (Schmitt) Geese, whom he married Dec. 19, 1959; daughters Diana Geese of Farrell, Laura Graves and her husband, Harold, and their daughters, Jordan and Brooklyn, all of Texas; and a son Ralph Geese of Farrell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
