Roland's Story

Roland E. Dickey, 86, of Grove City, passed away at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday (Feb. 1, 2018) at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a brief illness.
Roland was born in Akron, Ohio, on Sept. 25, 1931, to Thomas E. and Margaret M. Vincent Dickey.
He married Jodey K. Hoffman Dickey on Dec. 24, 1968, and she passed away on May 3, 2012.
Roland was a 1949 graduate of Grove City High School, Navy veteran, member of the American Legion Post 220 in Grove City, VFW Post 519 in Grove City, Tri-State Country Music Association, AARP, NRA, North American Hunting Club and National Committee to Preserve Social Security.
Roland retired from Peoples Gas Co. in 1987 after 33 years of service in customer service.
Roland is survived by four children: Rhonda Robertson of Arlington, Texas, Randall "Randy" Dickey of Wexford, Rod Eric Dickey of Mercer, and Jennifer Sonn of Memphis, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dale A. Dickey.

Service: 11 a.m. Monday (2-5-18) at the funeral home with Rev. G. Kenton Shaw officiating.
Burial: Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township, with military honors.
