Robert D. Svetlak


Robert D. Svetlak, 78, of West Middlesex, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Countryside in Mercer.
Bob was born April 21, 1940, in Youngstown, Ohio a son of John and Veronica Holecko Svetlak.
He was a 1958 graduate of Campbell High School.
Bob was a millwright for 26.5 years working at Republic Steel, which later became LTV Corp., and retiring in 1992.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and going to swap meets and flea markets. He was a fan of country western music and performed the classics with several area bands. He also enjoyed classic western movies, especially Gunsmoke.
He will be sadly missed by his family, his children, Barbara (Wes) Osborne of Pulaski, and Susan M. (Carl) Fette and Thomas (Sheris) Svetlak, both of New Bedford; his grandchildren, Dannielle Slaven, Billy (Casey) Slaven, Sam (Lynnette) Slaven, Rose Fette, Grace Fette and great-grandchildren Addison, Billy, Kennedy and Esmae Slaven.
He also leaves his sister, Elizabeth Edwards Emery of Slippery Rock.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant siblings, Kathy Svetlak and John Svetlak Jr.
